It's going to create an artificial image in people's minds that there's something at that store worth waiting in line for. OMG, BB must have some great deals! A higher than expected crowd forms at BB the night before the sale.

Meanwhile, the two "idiots" get up at 7am, and waltz right into the stores of their choice at 8am, without having to wait.
