Shopped at Zales? Please Help!

I am doing a market survey for school and could use the ATOT community's help for filling out a survey we've created. I am specifically looking for your feedback on your shopping experience at Zales. What are important factors to you when your looking to purchase jewelry and did your shopping experience at Zales validate these factors? And if not, why did purchase from Zales?

It's against my better judgement...but here goes.

A while back, (maybe 1-1/2 years ago) there was a link in the hot-buys forum for some diamond earrings from Zales.com.

I bought a pair for my wife. Perhaps the worst looking stones I've ever seen. While the price was dirt cheap, so were the diamonds.

I didn't expect the highest quality for the money, but I certainly expected better than I got.
They were returned to the local store.

I've bought some stuff from them - very fast shipping, amazing prices (when you catch a good sale) and no complaints. I'm not a jewelery connoisseur, but they looked ok to me.

I had gotten in on the same deal, fortunately our stones were decent. Other than that, that's my only experience with them that I know of.
