"multi-patient incident"
evacuation ongoing
Terminal 3
FAA: ground stop at LAX
apparently began at about 9:30AM their time ('bout 30 minutes ago)

http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/01/us/lax-gunfire/index.html

On CNN now. Don't know if shooter has been found.

Watching the fire dept physically stabilize someone on a gurney and put him in an ambulance. Looks like the fire dept has large triage tarps set up in preparation for multiple casualties and are working on someone on the yellow tarp. Although nobody looks to be in any hurry.

Who would want to do such a thing?

Even if you got a vendetta against an employee or passenger there, you don't go to a secure area to do this.

Looks like a lone gunman and one dead TSA agent, one wounded TSA agent and a total of 6 or 7 wounded. Gunman was supposedly shot and is in custody.

Still waiting for the news reports to stop contradicting themselves before commenting. Not sure there's a political narrative.

Today's best contradictions are:

  • Off duty TSA employee
  • Never worked for the TSA

  • Was killed
  • Is alive
Some harrowing detail:
An eyewitness, Leon Saryan, told ABC News Radio that a "fairly young" gunman with a rifle came down a corridor in Terminal 3 and shot perhaps 20 times.
A TSA officer holding Saryan's shoes was shot and wounded, he told ABC.
Saryan said the gunman asked him, "Are you TSA?"
"He saw me. He looked at me with a quizzical look and said, 'TSA?' And I just shook my head. So he moved on," Saryan said.

Why not?

It's not like a "secure area" is actually secure.

Also, in before: salt rifle, anti government extremist, young white male, high capacity clips, or whatever the librul boogeyman is nowadays.

Well schneiderguy, so far (at least) the assault weapon, anti-government extremist and young white male portions of your screed are proven true facts. What say you now?

Sounds like the shooter hasn't been to an airport in quite a while. TSA uniforms aren't exactly subtle.

So who let the crazy out of the cage? Confirmed they got him I hope?

Is it semi auto? If so, it isn't an "assault weapon." Just a semi auto rifle. Get your terminology straight ;)

Secure enough to rapidly bring this guy down.

Seems to be the case here. Political narrative found.

Another terrorist attack by a white male, likely conservative, that the media is calling a "gun incident" or some other term. White privilege seeping into the media coverage here...

Interesting that the white male community never discusses or condemns these terrorist attacks. Why haven't NASCAR, WWE, or Larry the Cable Guy released statements condemning this?

The "white male community" shot this guy, stopped him, and will convict him of his crimes. "We" will send him to a dark hole never to be seen again. I would put a bullet between his eyes and call it a day.

He is condemned to the greatest extent possible, by his peers. "We" police our own. If you wanted to compare that to Islam you failed miserably.

What do you hate more, white males or Europeans?

Do you have a link to the white male community stopping this man? The TSA seems to have a lot of minorities on its staff at checkpoints, especially in California.

Regardless, I'm wondering where the vocal and public condemnation is. I implore white males here to start working within their communities to stop these terrorist attacks.

"We" will send him to a dark hole never to be seen again. I would put a bullet between his eyes and call it a day.

How will "you" do that? He's now under the authority of the government.

The (conservative) white male community is not policing its own. These terrorist attacks are repeated over and over again. And I don't see any public condemnation from the likes of Ted Nugent.

If you wanted to compare that to Islam you failed miserably.

I have no idea what you're referring to here.

When will people get tired of this?
Assault weapons exist for one reason and one reason only.
To kill people.
They are not sport. Not collectables. Not game hunting devices.
They simply provide the ability to kill people in quantity.

So here we go again...
What will they find out about the shooter?
His troubled past.
Any indicators.
The interviewing of his neighbors, coworkers, friends, family, dog, cat, high school teachers.

Frankly I don't give a rats ass as to who he was, why or what provoked him.
He is like the leaves on a tree. Too many to number.
With access to mass killing curtesy the NRA.

Your post makes no sense. You don't know what you're talking about. Please leave the discussion.

Right, because if you ban the assault weapon, these people's desire to commit mass murder will go away.
