The vast, vast majority of Muslims are peaceful people. But, some calling themselves Muslims are not.

That said, what's the over/under on Geller's longevity?

I would tend to disagree with your observation. Worldwide, the vast majority of Muslims are not peaceful. Because they willingly follow and fully support their countries leaders. Nearly every Islamic dominated country is governed by brutal, barbaric and blood thirsty religious leaders and their political puppets who punish even minor crimes like adultery with death. That is hardly a religion of peace, when it refuses to show compassion and forgiveness even towards their own followers.

And by the way, the primary reason most "peaceful" Muslims and their families fled to the US and other civilized countries in the first place, was to escape from their home countries which use constant violence, fear and oppression under the guise of Islam merely as a method to retain control of the population and stay in power. And in that respect, the unholy alliance of politics, business and Christianity in this country has a whole lot in common with Islamic countries.

It is Texas, the attackers getting shot dead was very predictable.
CBS said:
8:11pm CT: Joe Harn, spokesman for the Garland Police Department, tells CBS 11 two men pulled up in vehicle on the roadway in front of the center and began firing at a Garland ISD security guard. Garland Police returned fire and killed both suspects.
Yes, but it was the Police that killed them.

Ultimately it was event designed to hurt and provoke animosity and it was so successful that the targets decided violence was necessary. No surprises here.

As a curiosity, does Geller have a litmus test to separate the good Muslims from the bad? Does she make a distinction? Is there a quota she will accept? The answer to all those is probably 'no.' To her, it seems America as a beacon of freedom should exclude those of Muslim faith and we should jeer Muslims into "voluntarily" leaving.

Despite my seeming antipathy towards the organizers, it's good that no one died other than the shooters.

Seems like a pretty good outcome. Wish we could so easily bait the rest of these terrorists into attacking. Imagine how many of the people in the cartoon contest had guns themselves?

There was a prior event a few months ago at this same location which was supposedly promoting Islam as a religion of "peace" called "Stand With The Prophet", when worldwide, nothing could be further from the truth. So don't be blaming Geller for what happened, when all the "peaceful" Islamic nutters out there like ISIS are bound and determined to prove her right every single day around the world.

All the so called "peaceful" Muslims in the US should still be standing up to support Geller's art project, even if they disagree with her, but yet they aren't, even if they agree with her. That is because they are still just as fearful the barbaric Islamic countries they came from will retaliate against them somehow for speaking out, like imprisoning and killing their other family members who are still there. Which is why no matter what evil horrors a Muslim might commit in the name of Islam, the "peaceful" Muslims mostly remain deathly silent when it comes to condemning Muslim violence and murders for Islam.

And I also think most of the Muslim immigrants who flee with their families to civilized countries are not the problem with Islam. And believe me, they are all well aware that Islam is not a religion of peace in those countries, in spite of how Islam is promoted as peaceful by all the Muslim instigators right here. I would also imagine a lot of the Muslim people here promoting Islam as a peaceful religion are probably newly converted Muslims who are both naive and easily persuaded to promote whatever agenda their clerics command them to.

I like this strategy, bait the radical Muslims out with a stupid picture of their imaginary friend, they do some dumb shit, and they are shot dead. Nice. I like it. Let do more of this.

Not quite sure what you are getting at. Nobody inside the event except security and the police were armed. Event attendees were all screened for weapons when they entered.

LOL. You guys understand that there is a 99% chance these are just two American ISIS fanboys. If this had been planned by ISIS or AQAP there would have been an attack like charlie hebdo or the world trade center bombing. This is pretty much analagous to what Tsarnaev did if he had been shot dead trying to do it.

I hear this a lot and it is a very PC statement and, perhaps, true because the vast majority of people are peaceful and good at heart. But let's not kid ourselves. Islam is a military religion. A warrior religion that never freed itself of its aggressive nature because it was good for the cause. This was bound to lead to clashes at wherever Islam and non-Islamic beliefs met. Nothing will change until Muslims reform their religion or, at the very least, it's interpretation.

Texas appears to be becoming the shit hole of humanity. It attracts all sorts of stupid.

It'll be funny when in the future it turns out that Texan residents went mental due to contaminated water from all the fracking they allowed.
