R, and it just jams their control signals. Most drones will return to a set of coordinates or slowly hover to the ground when they lose control, they don't just stop.

If I understood the embedded video correctly????
It also disrupts GPS signals going to the drone perhaps
disabling the return [to a set of coordinates] feature.

Sound illegal.

FCC says you can't interfere with RF transmissions.

It's illegal for you or I to use, but if you read the article the company is targeting it at government for enforcing no-fly zones. Problem is most drones operate on the 2.4ghz band, so that could interfere with a lot of unintended things.

Federal law prohibits the marketing, sale, or use of a transmitter (e.g., a jammer) designed to block, jam, or interfere with wireless communications. See Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. §§ 301, 302a(b), 333.

Section 301 of the Communications Act: “No person shall use or operate any apparatus for the transmission of energy or communications or signals by radio…except under and in accordance with [the Communications] Act and with a license in that behalf granted under the provisions of this Act.” 47 U.S.C. § 301.

Section 302(b) of the Communications Act: “No person shall manufacture, import, sell, offer for sale, or ship devices or home electronic equipment and systems, or use devices, which fail to comply with regulations promulgated pursuant to this
section.” 47 U.S.C. § 302a(b).

Section 333 of the Communications Act: “No person shall willfully or maliciously interfere with or cause interference to any radio communications of any station licensed or authorized by or under [the Communications] Act or operated by the
United States Government.” 47 U.S.C. § 333.

Jammers cannot be marketed or operated in the United States except in the very limited context of authorized, official use by the federal government.

http://www.dronejournalism.org/news...s-jamming-is-sign-of-hazards-ahead-for-drones

United States Federal Communications Commission issued its largest fine ever - $34.9 million against a Chinese company that makes and sells signal jammers.

Indeed, the FCC is asking that Humphreys pay $48,000 for unauthorized operation of a jammer, use of an illegal device and causing intentional interference.

Hopefully you aren't connected to these companies as this would constitute advertising, which also violates federal law.

The GPS interference, if it's capable, could really fuck things up.

edit: and let's not kid ourselves, just look at the title. Some people have wet dreams about shooting these things out of the sky. Did you see that fisherman thread?

Only within the 30 degree cone and the effective range of the handheld device.

Wouldn't matter if it was pinpoint accuracy with 0 chance of error, it's illegal for general use, but you are just ignoring that.

I wonder how it would handle a converted Microwave HERF gun. much higher wattage.

I'd rather see a net shot from a modified shotgun. Net deploys, but is covered in a sticky substance that ignites 3 seconds after being fired.

But that's just me.

I have a vision impairment.
It's easier for me to read.
Do you have anything worth while to add to the thread subject????

Instead of changing just your text for everyone, there are a number of options you can use make all text easier for you.

Zoom (typically ctrl+scroll wheel)

Font settings

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/...e-and-size-for-reading-view-in-microsoft-edge

Chrome has addons that might help, like high contrast.

And on subject, does sounds illegal.

Probably, but if someone is attempting to introduce contraband in a federal prison and their drone gets jammed by this thing I can't see them filing a complaint with the FCC/FAA.
