Minimum Specs (Required for playing Total War: Shogun 2):

* 2 GHz Intel Dual Core processor / 2.6 GHz Intel Single Core processor , or AMD equivalent (with SSE2)
* 1GB RAM (XP), 2GB RAM (Vista / Windows7)
* 256 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card (shader model 3)
* 1024×768 minimum screen resolution
* 20GB free hard disk space

Recommended Specs (Recommended for optimum game play of Total War: Shogun 2):

* 2nd Generation Intel® Core™i5 processor (or greater), or AMD equivalent
* 2GB RAM (XP), 4GB RAM (Vista / Windows7)
* AMD Radeon HD 5000 and 6000 series graphics cards or equivalent DirectX 11 compatible graphics card
* 1280×1024 minimum screen resolution
* 20GB free hard disk space

Whats with the 2nd Gen Core i5? I sincerely doubt SB's IGP is going to be useful for any enjoyable gaming. Paid advertisement maybe?

Either way, I knew my E8500 C2D was getting a little old. :(

BS, I am pretty sure C2Q and C2Ds will work just fine. it would be great if they finally figured out how to use multicore CPUs properly.

Same, just disheartening to see my current setup hovering between the minimum and recommended requirements.

Need to do some upgrades later this quarter. :)

Exactly, especially when there isnt an AMD equivalent. Also, no nVidia cards are mentioned.

Maybe it will finally be time to upgrade from my Q9550 and GTX260.

Or maybe just upgrade the GTX260.

The Total War games have also pushed the CPU hard...especially in huge battles against the A.I.

Should come as no surprise.

As long as they don't release a product still in beta like they did with their last title, I'm excited! Although to be honest, now that I think about most TW games were at least fairly buggy upon release.
