Shoe Question: Same size and model. Different fit? Possible?

Hey guys I'm wondering if my mind is playing tricks on me so I want to get some input on this. I tried out a pair of shoes a week or two ago at a local store and thought they were great. Earlier this week I found them on amazon and ordered them. Now the pair got to my house and the left foot feels a bit tighter than the pair in the store. Same brand, model, size and color. Is it possible they might be cut a bit differently?

It's possible that the shoe is miss-sized, but unlikely. Everyone has one foot that's slightly larger than the other, and the pair at the store may have been tried on by someone else before you tried them on. That could stretch them slightly. If it's not uncomfortably tight, it will probably break in and fit better over time.

Feet swell over the course of the day

This is true. Did you try the first pair on early in the day? I'm guessing you tried the Amazon pair on as soon as you got home from work?

You should always try on shoes late in the day, for the best fit.

I tried the other ones on a Saturday evening at around 8 or so. I tried the Amazon pair at about 7:30 after I got home from work....

I don't see why the shoe couldn't have an anomaly that was created during manufacturing.

Slithery also brings up a good point. It seems my left foot is slightly larger than my right. If I wear size 13 shoes, my right foot feels fine, but they put a slight bit of pressure on my left foot. So, I end up wearing size 14, because my left foot is more of a size 13.5.

Well the thing is I tried the exact same pair/size on before and they fit okay so I'm not sure my weird foot sizing comes into play.

So how do you get 2 different sizes? Not by buying 2 pairs I hope

It's absolutely possible. Perhaps made in a different factory, or on a different line by different workers...or even just on a different day.

Tight jeans, now shoes that don't fit? You should just not wear clothes, but don't come near me or post pictures. :D This is why I don't buy clothes online.

I'd go to the store and swap the ones out that don't feel right for the ones that do.

Then run

absolutely possible. i could never buy shoes online. i have to go to the brick and mortar and try on up to 4 pair of the same size and model until my feet tell me it's ok to purchase.

been that way since my teens.

that's not too far fetched (without the running part). if it's a store like kohls, just take them there and ask if you could exchange them. chances are, especially if the ones you are exchanging are pristine, they will allow it.

Nah. When I bought a new pair of shoes this past weekend, I just got size 14. If you push down near the toe, there's a little bit of extra space, but it's nothing excessive.
