Hi,

Let me describe what I've done and let me know if I have made any major errors.

I did not want to spend alot on packing, and I figured I had lots of stuff around.

What I did was the following.

The bubble packs (real hard plastic shells) that they sell Lexmark Inkjet Refill kits in, I placed a cardboard box from a game in the bottom to make a 'floor'. I placed the processor die side down on the floor (pins up). I thought about bubble wrap, but instead used cloth to lay over the processor to keep it in place. On top of the cloth (a clean washcloth), I placed bubble wrap. I then taped the original shell back to the top holding all of this in.

Then I am placing that shell inside of a larger box, and I have that shell completley wrapped in larger bubble wrap.

Does this sound ok?

Thanks for advice

go to your computer store and ask them for a plastic CPU case, its specially meant for this purpose. also use an anti static bag if you cant. ive shipped many processors out, and every processor i shipped (except for a slot processor) went into one of those special plastic CPU cases.

go get one, they will most likely give you one for free

I don't have any stores like that within a 2 hour drive unfortuantly.

I actually found something better. I have a CD Case I bought that had 5 CD/RW's in it. I wrapped the cpu in bubble wrap and placed it in there. This case is very hard and it'd be tough to damage the cpu now. I'll pack that inside of a larger box with more bubble wrap.
