The Husqvarna I got was not up to task and I felt the need to return it.
Unfortunately you need to destroy the original box to get the god damn thing out.
You would not believe how difficult it is to find a large cardboard box that also can handle 100 pounds. I went all over the county trying to find one. No luck. Finally got a beat up old box from Staples. They let me have it for free. My luck is not so good however, and the box was missing flaps on one end plus its a little too long so I'll need to reinforce the inside walls with 2x2's and then buy about 3 ginormous bags of peanuts. Or 3 of those industrial sized rolls of bubble wrap.

I briefly considered making a shipping container out of wood, then realized UPS doesnt take such boxes.

Let this be a lesson, dont order anything from Amazon you arent prepared to ship back. This would also include home appliances and furniture.

Oh, and I'm probably going to have to purchase a dolly and/or ramps just to get the thing in my car and over to UPS.

You need a shipping crate and strapping. Secure the snowblower to the crate so it doesnt roll. Maybe straps around the axles in both opposite directions to restrict movement and more straps so it doesnt tip over inside the crate. Id even remove the handlebars so it becomes shorter.

Beat up old box, packing peanuts, bubble wrap. How are you going to deliver this thing in a car?? Im sorry but this is hilarious. You are unnecessarily re-inventing the wheel and going to fail. Unless you also reinforce the bottom, that is not going to survive the voyage. Call around for a carrier that will do a pickup from your house. We use UPS at my company all the time and ship crates. They will come to you and pick it up. Contact UPS Freight or Fedex Freight services etc...

The thing arrived in a cardboard box. If thats how UPS does things then thats how it is.

And I did reinforce it. I put 3/4 inch plywood on the top and bottom. It is now stronger than the package which was dumped off at my house.

Remember you can't have any gasoline at all in it when you ship it-including gas fumes.

Can the seller/Amazon give you any guidance on how to pack or ship it? If you hadn't already build your box I'd suggest checking out FedEx Office-they sell some pretty impressive heavy duty reinforced boxes.

I don't envy you this. Good reason to buy such stuff locally.

Yeah can't imagine ordering something this big/major online lol. Especially through amazon... you never really know what you're getting when ordering from there. Could be some super chinese rip off or something. Rather go to a local hardware store and know I'm getting the real thing.

Do they take skids? Seems that would be the easiest way, to just tie it on a skid.

I ordered it from Amazon.
UPS delivered it.
It came in a shitty cardboard box.
I sent it out in an improved cardboard box.

I think I may strangle somebody here. And probably start with Red Squirrel cuz frankly that dude needs to be strangled more than anyone else I know.
