Shipping a guitar, finding a box for it

I've gotten them shipped to me in bicycle boxes before.

I always go to the local guitar shops and ask if they have any extra shipping boxes. They usually do and they've never charged me for one.
Guitar boxes are designed for shipping guitars, so you're guitar is more likely to survive the trip. Remember to insure it and write Fragile all over it!
