That's unlikely since it's Priority, but it has happened to us (Okinawa Military Postal System almost certainly uses similar system to Guam). Ten days to two weeks is nothing to worry about -- after three weeks you might start to be concerned.

And, yes, that idiot who said you couldn't do insurance was talking out his @ss. It's USPS -- of course you can use insurance!

Bottomline: Don't fret. Yet. :)

Good to hear, thanks :)

Guy hasn't responded to any e-mails since he paid me two weeks ago--any chance he's gotten it but it just wasn't scanned in?

If he hasn't responded, who really cares? The guy hasn't shown any interest on the package, so why should you?

If he paid through PayPal, I would withdraw all the money immediately. That way if there is a dispute, YOU can choose to refund the purchase and NOT PayPal.

I've already withdrawn the money, but they still have my bank account connected and on file (to prevent people from withdrawing and not returning it).

They can't pull money from your account without your permission, can they?

Edit: It appears they cannot.

I sent money to a guy in canada(wouldn't take paypal) from an ebay auction and it took 3 weeks to get there from USPS. But, I guess that's what I get for trying to save a couple bucks. It got there safe and sound however. :)

Nah, they can't withdraw money from your bank account. When you think about it, legally they cannot do anything with the money once it is out of their hands.

There are many downsides to PayPal, but 90% of buyers prefer using it, and if you play it smart you won't get screwed.

NEVER keep a positive balance in your PayPal account.

Thousands if not millions of them, from what I understand. They completely annihilated the bird population unfortunately (the snakes are not native to Guam).

UPDATE: Got feedback today. Don't know how long he had it, but WHEW, I'm relieved! Guess USPS just never scanned it in as being delivered. Lazy bastards...

We shipped a package to India for a mission there via USPS. It took 3 MONTHS to get there. We thought it was lost in transit, but I guess that's common for that area. No wonder FedEx charges $200+ for shipping there as opposed to $60 by USPS.

International shipments should always be sent with UPS or FedEx. You get better tracking and reliability of service. I shipped 3 Disney DVDs to Israel a few years ago, and UPS worked perfectly. USPS won't support tracking once the package leaves the US.

I knew someone would call me on that.
But regardless, it's not international, so my point stands :)

If you paid for DC and it was not done, demand a refund.

DC is included with priority.

If you printout the label yourself it is free.

You can also pay for DC at the PO.

If it was paid for, then a refund should be demanded. It is the principal of paying for service, not the cost of the service.

Either way, the PO should be informed that the DC was never scanned at arrival.

Was this to an apo address by any chance? Once packages arrive at the base station, it is completely out of usps' hands. The base takes over & delivers mail at their own pace. I sent a $50 game down to an apo in the pacific once & it took about 3 weeks just for her to get it. I wasn't allowed to even add delivery confirmation, because like I said, once usps hands over the package, it's in the military's hands from there.
