Just signed up for an account online with Fedex and they give you 10% off Express shipping. I do most of my shipping ground but it's NICE to be able to print the labels on my laserjet and drop them off at the counter or in the pick-up box. They just bill my credit card.

Details:

Faster, easier, cheaper shipping online through FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com.

No handwritten shipping labels.

Online tracking, email shipment and delivery notifications, an online address book that stores up to 1,000 addresses, and many more benefits.

Plus, 10% savings on your online express shipments. Eligible services include: FedEx First Overnight, FedEx Priority Overnight, FedEx Standard Overnight, FedEx 2-Day, FedEx Express Saver (3 Day), FedEx 1Day Freight, FedEx 2Day Freight, FedEx 3Day Freight, FedEx International Priority, FedEx International Priority 10k Box, FedEx International Priority 25k Box, FedEx International Economy, and FedEx International First.

used to use Fedex... but since they lost a few of my packages and then had extremely LONG delays on others I now only use UPS.

I shipped about 5 packages from VT to CA, but somehow they ended up in HI. Called FedEx to complain and was told there was nothing they could do because it was a residental delivery and had no guarantee on time of delivery. What a load of crap.

Then they had the nerve to charge me additonal money on each package cuz of the weight of freigt to HI. Finally after 6 months and lots of calls I got that money back, but I will not use them again.

That'd be cool if you got on a plane to California and they sent you to Hawaii instead. Seriously, Fedex is sooooooo much cheaper than anybody else for packages it's just ridiculous! UPS is often twice as much. I'd be pissed too if they did that to me though.

Funny, I've had the exact opposite experience. I won't even touch UPS anymore, now I just strictly use Fedex.

actually no, their quotes are definetly the cheapest, when u get the invoice it may not be the cheapest. the fuel surcharge is nothing, but they add on huge additional fees such as rural residential ($3.15), and of course residential ($1.1-$2). the rural residential is the killer cuz the quote says 6 bux, but the additional fee they tack on later makes it 50% more expensive to the point where its more expensive than UPS

not to mention they add a weekly service charge onto my account every other week (odd), which is either $7 or $11. i'm not sure if its because i don't send enuff packages thru them because when i first signed up for fedex ground years ago, and sent tons of packages thru them i never had a weekly service charge

not to mention they've had a nearly 2% lost package ratio with my packages so far

i had much bigger problems with ups.

plus with this program (fedex) u see all fees before u chose to ship, (fuel surcharge, residental etc)
and i have no weekly fees, i ship about once a month on average,
alot easier then usps which after u add insurance, tracking and d.c.
is alot more expensive and a pain to use

I will only use UPS from now on. I guess it makes sense that their service stink here in Memphis (the city OWNED by FedEX), but I've had a couple of bad experiences with them. Never once had a problem with FedEx and will continue to ship with them over USPS (depending on th esize) or UPS.

Thanks for the link.

Too bad they don't let you ship ground with their box. If they do, I would have shipped with them all the way!

FedEx ground is iffy, but their Express service is great. finally a company that knows how to treat their customers. y are we forced to pay a fee to print usps stamps online when all we're doing is helping them save time and paper. in fact they should be giving us discounts is what i've being saying all along.
