Hi,

I really would like to buy this shirt from American Eagle (AE) in one or two colours, however I live in Belgium (Europe) and there shipping cost to me would be 50$ + tax & duty which is way too expensive.

Since AE ship for free within the US, I was wondering if somebody living in the US would be so kind to help me out. I could let AE send the package to you so you could send the package as a gift to me in which case I don't have to pay tax & duty. Obviously I would pay you for the shipping to Belgium, so what would be a cost effective way of sending it to me.

How much does it cost to send a package of 1-2 shirts affordable to Belgium?

Thanks in advance!

Sending a padded envelope would be fairly cheap; I'd guess around $10. sending boxes to Europe is expensive.

Guess again. I get ass raped every time I ship to france. That doesn't count duties or VAT.

OP: $50 sounds very reasonable. If you'd like, post your city and post code and I'll check tomorrow on what Fedex would be even with my work's huge discounts.

The cheapest way to ship overseas is typically USPS anyway. But yes, post your info let's see what we come up with.

Yea I never use USPS, so I can't do much help there. But I know lots of our FSFT guys do. I'm sure together we can at least give the OP some insight.

Padded envelope? Been awhile since I used one, but I remember paying ~$15 with more weight. Boxes have been $30+ for me.

Edit:
actually, just last year I sent an envelope to tne UK for ~$5. It was a good bit smaller than Tshirt size, but scaled up would put the cost around $10-$12.

Are you sure it will fit? That's an AE "classic fit" shirt designed for big meaty muricans. It's not slim fit or "euro fit" by any means. Plus that looks like something you could get at H&M or any other store. And American Eagle, Aeropostale, and Abercrombie aren't trendy here anymore and are in dire financial straits.

My wife used to sell A&F clothes to Germany. She bought the stuff on clearance then charged full price+, she cleared a couple of thousand, decent side gig, but she dropped it when she went back to school.

Anyway, she almost exclusively shipped using USPS priority mail flat rate envelopes. Think it is like$11-12? She stuffed those things. Some of the workers would get pissy about accepting them, but AFAIK they are fine as long as they seal on their own.

She had maybe 10% of the sales disputed if that. She would just refund and apologize usually.

I live in Belgium in the city "Ghent" (spelled "Gent" in Dutch).. postal code is 9000..

I think even just one oxford shirt would best to be sent in a small box instead of an enveloppe, not?.. so what would be the best price this could be sent over?

Also, is it easy to send over as a gift with the mentioned postal services cause that way tax & duties can normally be avoided.

PS. and yes.. i am looking for a "classic fit" black, grey or navy oxford shirt like the ones Abercrombie sell in the link above.. i can't find something close anywhere else but if anybody has any suggestions (links) please let me know also ofcourse.

Thanks alot for the help!

Not for me, I ship from a business account and have to follow the rules. Tax and duties shouldn't be anything much on a couple shirts. We're happy to help but not happy to break any laws.

I'll check tomorrow.

OK so for a 29.85 cm x 37.5 cm Fedex Pak to 9000 in Belgium, it would be $74.48.

Literally? If so, do you ship there daily? Sometimes more than once a day? Can you even rape the willing? ;)

Funny part is the guy I ship stuff to there has what we would consider a woman's name. For the longest time I thought he was a chick. Turns out he has a penis.

Who knew?

Where did you find the pricing on that site.. the calculator they have is offline.

$61.75 is nevertheless even more expensive then the $50 American Eagle would charge.

Are there other sending options.. on that site they suggest "a padded enveloppe" for clothing.. how much would that cost and what does such an enveloppe look like.. I mean, isn't an enveloppe too small to put a casual oxford shirt (rather thick cotton fabric) in that or could that work?

I also just found somewhere on that site that "Priority Mail International" starts from only $29.25 .. would that be a better option in my case?

The problem is packing shirts in an envelope - any size

You need a small box

Sending anything priority will cost extra.

For regular shipping

Select the destination from the first dropdown and go from that point on.

You can also do the same in the International Priority link that I previous posted

Accept and re-ship a package from a stranger in a foreign country.

What could POSSIBLY be the downside?

I used to do it all the time for our friends in the hate before sites like Amazon and Newegg started shipping there. I never had any problems.

Yea. People from on here. Mostly people I didn't know.

I would do it again without thinking twice.

Have you ever heard the term "mule"?

Rudy, you're the guy who leaves his property unlocked, then wonders why things get stolen.
