I get it, a different one for the Pally chip, one for the Tbred chips, and probablyone for the Barton line. I'm not sure, but it looks like you have a pally, and got the shim for the Tbred.
This is true. I've always just used the standard retail hsf, don't even replace the thermal pad, and never had a problem with any chip, Tbird, Pally, Tbred or Barton.
Yeah, I can handle no shim, just a precautionary measure. My old tbirds used to chip a lot from constant hsf and waterblock changes and the sk7 I just got is pretty big and intimidating
