I noticed someone posted about double clicking the top right of a window to close it. I frequently use Alt Space X to maximize a window, Win+M to minimize all, and Alt F4 to close a window.

I frequently use Shift Delete to bypass the Recycle Bin when deleting files. Does anyone else have any quirky shortcut habits?

I like to use ALT F4 as well... even if my left hand isn't near the keyboard and it takes much more effort than clicking the little X.

I use (Windows) + D to show the desktop when I have too much crap open and I need to open yet another application.

Windows + R to run something, windows + E to open explorer (I use this all the time), windows + F to search, I use those three constantly, and of course windows + D for desktop.

I use shift-delete sometimes.

I have a lot of custom shortcuts set up in MS Word.

Ctrl+D = Degree symbol
Ctrl+P = Plus/Minus
Ctrl+M = Greek Letter Mu
Ctrl+< = Less than or equal to
Ctrl+> = Greater than or equal to

Probably others. I know where they are when I need them.

Whenever I need to browse to a directory I always press Win+R, put a \ in and then hit enter. Or, if I know where I'm going, I type the path out.

I rarely ever open 'My Computer' and click around to find files.

I also use Win+D, Alt+Tab and Alt+F4 a lot.

I only have to single click the top right of a window to close it, there's a big X there

or do you mean top left?

Thanks for that list. I could certainly make use of Win+D.

Windows + L and Shift-Delete the most for me. Also, Ctrl-X, C, V, and Alt+F4 too

When typing in an address in the address bar (IE) just type in google then press CTRL+Enter and it will put the www. & .com in there for you. ALT+Enter will do www. & .net

I think that's my most-used shortcut at work ;).

I use Win+L all the time. I no longer use Win+D since that fvcks up the widgets as well.

For those using Opera, search shortcuts are the greatest thing since slice bread. I have "g" assigned to google, "t" to torrent spy, "r" to rottentomatoes, "w" to wikipedia, "d" to dictionary. Basically, you can just go to the address bar and put in "g apples" and it'll search for apples in google or if you put in "w apples" it'll search for apples in wikipedia. Sooooo convenient

i have a logitech g15 keyboard so i use my 54 programmable buttons for everything like macros, opening programs, going to webpages, etc.

i use most of the shortcuts in this thread, and since i have dual monitors, i ALWAYS close windows on my left monitor by racing to the upper left and double clicking. its way faster than navigating to the red X.

That's hot. One of the main reasons I used A9 for a while is that I could type in "a9.com/apples" for a quick search. Of coure, I would rather just install a toolbar on this POS laptop, but I have no admin priv.

I use the Firefox shortcuts:

Ctrl - Tab to switch tabs.
Ctrl - T to make a new tab.
Ctrl - W to close a tab.
Backspace to go back a page in a browser (if not using a mouse with forward/back buttons).

Windows + L to lock
Alt + left/right arrow in FF to navigate pages
CTRL + T for new tab
ALT + Tab to switch windows
ALT + F4
Shift + Delete

I'm all about keyboard shortcuts, I wish I could remember all of them.
