Shelf Stereo System Recommendations

What are some alternatives to the Bose Wave Music System? Looking for something small and not too unsightly.

What options do you need it to have? I went with one of the iHome units and just use my iPod for all music unless I decide to switch it to FM.

It should be able to play regular CDs. MP3 capability would be a plus.

if you are willing to get parts i would suggest getting a receiver, a pair of bookshelf speakers and then hooking up a cd player. you will get better sound and will be able to upgrade each of the components seperatly.

All you really need are powered speakers and a CD player although all-in-one probably looks better.

I woulda recommended the B&W Zepellin if it weren't for the fact that its ipod only (there is a line level input if you have an external cd player though).

I don't know how important looks are to you but Sharper Image sells a unit that can be wall mounted that looks really nice. It plays MP3s also. Only thing I don't like about it is that it comes with a 90 day warranty which I think is too short for a $200 product
