How the heck did we get to this point where everyone seems to think they are entitled to get lots of money if something bad happens to anyone they might be related to?

Yeah, I'm sure the parents will say the old BS line "it's not about the money", which is of course crap. It's ALL about the money, it's sad that the parents would disgrace their son's memory by trying to cash in like this.
 
No doubt prompted by some lawyer contacting them on a fee contingent basis and telling them how these people just have to pay for their gross negligence. From what I have read that is one of the major differences between the US system and other English based systems. These types of cases are almost a slam dunk for a lawyer since they convince sympathetic juries that they can mitigate their clients pain by simply shoveling some money their way and heck those nasty old Universities/Corporations have tons of the stuff they will never miss it.

This morning I also heard news of a lady filing a lawsuit against Petsmart. The reason? Well, Petsmart has a policy of allowing pets into the store with their owner. One such pet, a dog, drooled on a spot on the floor, and apparently the lady slipped on the drool and fell.

Argh!! Will this stuff ever turn around? Will sanity return?
 
Well if the petsmart suit happens then there will be no more pets in petsmart. This is really one thing about the US that really pisses me off.

Those are some sick parents. If my mom ever did anything like that I would haunt her so she couldn't enjoy any of the money.
 
Maybe when all the baby boomers die we can get some sanity back into our government?

(No offense to the baby boomers 😉)

Of course you can! They should've forseen this happening! If they would've just hired the right consultants when planning the trip (ie fortune tellers) then this wouldn't have happened.... 😉
