To be honest open relationships are just a recipe for disaster in my opinion. I know I would get way too jealous.
I could sleep at my ex's place, and she could sleep here, all with no problems. Now I wouldn't be not staying with the gf and going to the ex's place, but if I needed to stay there or she needed to stay here for some reason, I'd have no issue with it. But then my ex and I are very close friends still so.
I'd say she's an idiot. I see this all the time among younger kids who haven't learned this life lesson the hard way yet.
Younger kids (16-22) are so gullible it's pathetic.
Well I got snowed in at an exs house while visiting once, and my gf at the time didnt seem to mind. It lasted until morning when they salted the roads.
I sleep over an ex's house pretty frequently and my gf doesnt have a problem with it either. My ex and I are very good friends still and go out to the bars in her town when i come home from school. Instead of driving I crash on her couch. I dont see a problem here.

Maybe they shared dinner and the visitor had a few too many drinks? I crash at friends places every now and then, and they do the same here.
Oh, or maybe the car broke down? Bad weather? It got late and they're too tired to safely drive home? There's a million reasons.
And yes you can be platonic friends with an ex. I am. I visited the ex a few days ago after going out to a game with my family. I was in the neighbourhood and had a small xmas gift for her. I stopped by, had some tea, watched some tv and left after midnight. I was offered a place to sleep for the night, and I could have and my current g/f would probably have been okay with it, but I chose to go home for a number of reasons, the main one being respect. Had I have been drinking or had my car broken down or something, I wouldn't have had a problem sleeping over there.
I'm glad that this girl is smart enough to let her boyfriend sleep over at his ex's house. It serves to increase the competitive sluttiness that pervades young societ these days. Her boyfriend will come back with stories about how he slurped champagne off his ex's chest, thereby driving this young girl to think up ever sluttier ways to get back at the other girl. Kudos to her.

Maintaining a friendship with an ex has proven to be largely age based (but not exclusively). I have always been honest and up front...if I just wanted fun and no strings I disclosed that, if I was looking for a ready and steady...same.
However; when young people tend to be more mean spirited for lack of a better term...and when that happens the friendship is sort of broken as well.
As you get older it's easier to agree that you just are not soulmates or whatever...however while you are both looking for that why have boundaries?
In my late 20's / early 30's I had a pretty large circle of women that were friends and more. Some nights we'd go out and nothing would happen, other nights we never made it out.
As long as noone holds possession over another because you actually ended up in bed together, then it should work.
Your friend is dumber than a box of rocks. Her "boyfriend" is still tapping the ex. Hats off to the dude for owning her though.
that's exactly what I was thinking. Ironically, she has her Master's and is now studying for her PhD. That's what makes it so conusing. how can someone so ambitious and smart be so gullible?
Here's some easy words of wisdeom. Men act with their head, women act on how they feel. But you really have to hand it to the dude. This is how you own a woman and he's got it down pat. Good job.
You'd really be surprised at how some women just lap it up, take the licks (emotional), and come begging back for some more.
Are you sure she isn't letting him sleep over at the ex's because someone is sleeping over at her place at that time?
If she's working towards her PhD, then she might not really want a "committed" relationship and let's him do what he wants. She'll get the cawk when she needs it

Actually...women IMHO aren't so deeply emotional in the relationships. They show their emotions more, but they are just being mostly nice/civil; whereas the guy is playing the game in his head that he should be a prick first.
Men IMHO are the first to go utterly insane post-coitus when she is out with another guy.
Seems the chick in question knows where she wants to go, and knows her needs. Letting anyone go back to an 'ex' usually doesn't expose you to more risks...it's the safe bet. After quite a few nights where nothing was pulled in, I often rolled through my list of exes and usually had at least one invite for 'just a drink'
That's another thing I love to hear guys talk as canonical...chicks are sleeping around whether they believe it or not. However; a chick doesn't have to tell everyone they know they finally 'banged' so and so. They have great poker faces on this. I have known more than one guy that thought his g/f really had only 2-3 previous partners.
Also never ask 'Was the sex good though?'...sex can be bad, but if you ended up in a relationship the sex wasn't that bad to keep it going.
