30-35 is the area where there is a 50/50 chance she will change her mind

How many relationships fail or marriages end in divorce cause one partnet thought the other would change?

Not worth it, imho.. this is too much a major decision not to be on the same page from the get go.

:)

If you want kids, dump her.

He has yet to provide further information regarding his situation..

I find it rather pre-mature to already give the signal to dump her.

he can ship her to me, I don't like nor want kids either.

and how old are you?

33

if you don't want kids at that age.....then I guess you don't...

I just hope it isn't because you can't find a host (woman) to carry your child ;)

that might be part of it...but she generally states that she does not like kids, and would never want one.

We're 23...

Dude, a lot of folks wait longer before having kids!

Just wait till all her female friends start getting married and have kids....

then you never know what she might decide

exactly, my fiancee's friends are getting pregnant so now shannon wants kids too. we're only 23-24 too. i say wait it out she might change her mind and then not shut the hell up about it.

Yes, it's a deal killer. If you are considering marrying this girl and have discussed it with her I would recommed you do the catholic church "thinking of getting married thing". They have this prenuptial course where they ask you all these questions about future plans and expectations and some of the issues they make you bring up and talk about are the primary issues that cause divorce later. You can probably find a summary of it on the internet and the things you should discuss with your SO.

Having kids is awesome. Lots of work, but lots of rewards. If she says does not like kids, that is a little more serious than saying you are not sure if you are ready for kids. Raising a child has given me a purpose and I would not have considered marrying a woman that did not like children. Some people are happy going through life without that responsibility, but if genuinely feel you love to have children, I would say your relationship will go nowhere. I would not even attempt to force her to like children.

Oh I agree there is definiately a risk involved.

Before I make a long term commitment to someone, I need to know how they feel about children.

One major reason why I didn't start a long term commitment with one of my best female friends.
She was dead set upon not having kids and she's at that age where she doesn't have many more years to change her mind about it.

what about her parents? if her parents eventually want grandchildren, i think there's a better chance for her to change her mind.

It all depends. My aunt and uncle have been married for more than 25 years with no kids. My aunt never wanted to have children but I think my uncle would have liked to have children. I guess it all comes down to one thing: would you rather spend the rest of your life with her and no kids or spend it with someone else and have kids?

this is a relationship killer.

You guys can't get married, there is no future and you disagree on one of the most fundamental issue. Hoping one changes one's minds just means your missing out on a woman who does want a family.

well when you do get married just start cheating and have illegitimate children with other women and blame it on her.

this is the complete opposite of the girls i date. all of them want kids and i dont. you're 23, still way to young to be thinking about marriage, let alone kids. give it time.

I think the 18 years of having to be unselfish has something to do with it too.

Exact opposite here.

An aunt of mine swore she didn't want kids [20 years ago]

On december 1st, her 5th will be coming out.
