I don't mean to thread crap but just beware of Sharp. All of their models are ranked last in Consumer Reports. One feature that ranked way below average is their Image Stabilization.

Now if we can just find a Cannon or Panasonic for that price then I'd be STOKED. :Q

I have one of these I bought at Costco online. I use it for a playback miniDV deck for input into my video editing system. The actual camcorder picture is below par and a bit fuzzy. But as a deck this works great. Playback of my Canon XL1s tapes is excellent and my DVStorm can control the camcorder. You can't buy a cheaper miniDV "deck"

I have this digital camcorder and I love it. Its got 26 Optical zoom, a canon lens and the 64 MB card I got for it will hold 500+ pics on the highest res. Sure its only 350,000 pixcels, but what do you want for 375 for a camera/camcorder. Still waiting for my rebate though, called and its has been approved, only been since thanksgiving....
BTW the stabilization isn't that bad and the white balance and cats eye is decent enough for the price.

I just ditched my sharp wd450 on ebay (got more than I paid for it - hehe) - stay away. They do have tons of cool features
but the picture quality was worse than the compact-vhs I was upgrading. I used the recent 10% off + $20 off at dell to grab
a panasonic 680k pixel. Not near the features, but the picture quality is much better.

Took one of these back because it stopped playback when it gets hot in the summer. Anything above 80 or so causes the video to pixlate.
I tried two differnt units then gave up.

It seemed to record ok in the heat.

i guess if the image quality isn't that good i'll wait a while to go to video. if anyone needs another reason to push them over the edge and go for the sharp though, looks like there's a $25 amazon.com gc bonus you get if you buy the camera. :)
