Sharp Quattron Quad Pixel???

HI

What are your thoughts on the Sharp Quattron Quad Pixel tv's?
Is it just a gimmick or do they really display the colors better, etc?
Again,,, your thoughts, I have seen s few of the Sharp sets but they were on display in a big box store and as usual everything was over driven, saturated, etc.

I read a while back that Sharp bought the license, patents etc from Pioneer who at one time made a good tv.

I have the AQUOS 70". Love it but its nothing special, any mid to high end plasma can look the same with proper calibration. Is all about the source material anymore. Garbage in, garbage out, all bluray or HD content is NOT the same.

It's gimmick. I have the 70" 735u and love it, but have the quatron turned off. Most calibrators suggest this as well. It really adds nothing.

It does have an amazing picture though if you want a large tv.

i thought the 70 inch was not a quad pix?

anyway its pretty much a gimmick and causes issues with calibration

Keep in mind there is a considerable picture quality difference between the 732 and the 734/735. From 734 to 735 the only difference is 3D.

The 935(maybe its 945) is coming out this year, but it's considerably more.
