Trader Joes has some 4 year cheddar. I bet that stuff is some sharp sh!t...

this thread just made me go to my fridge for some cheese. I have those Cheese To Go individual cheddar packets. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM yummy.
 
I really prefer a mild or medium to sharp chedder.

And I have AMERICAN CHEESE.

Burger king had a HIckory bacon chedder double cheese burger a wyhile back and that ws AWESOME.

Cheeder is the cheese of the gods!😀
 
You all know that cheddar cheese is made orange by dye don't you?

Try Vermont Sharp Cheddar that's the good stuff.... I'm a chesse fricking expert by the way (mom ran a gourmet deli and I was forced into low paid slavery... the good thing was the samples)
 
yo, guys... it's all about smoked GOUDA. you really can't beat a good wedge of gouda.

Also try havarti. Similar in taste to gouda

I think you should try Edam... it's a lot closer to Gouda than Havarti is.....

but I agree smoked gouda rocks

Try a nice Jarlsberg or if you like baby swiss then Alpine Lace (I told you it's rediculous how much I actually know about cheese... if I could trade it in for a deposit on a CCNA I would)
 
If you're into sharp cheddar, the best in the WORLD is Cabot's Vermont White Sharp Cheddar. It is without a doubt, the most flavorful, sharpest cheddar I've ever seen. And since I'm a cheese freak, that's saying alot. 🙂
You can usually find it at SuperWalmarts in the refrig section. It comes in big blocks. 🙂
 
Cabot's is one of my favorites.

Sometimes I get brave and go across the border into Wisconsin - they have some really good stuff there that they can't ship out of state due to some law. GOOD stuff.

Is it sharper than Candian white cheddar?


Gouda, smoked gouda, edam and Canandian white cheddar are my favorites for just snacking. Boar's Head brand is usually not as good as other stuff and costs more.
 
The one I buy most commonly is aged provolone.... now there's a lot of different kinds of provolone but if you can find an Italian import that's been aged 10-12 mo. then it's probably a good one. Smells like feet 🙂

YESS-s-s-s !!! 😀 It's available at Trader Joes, a local chain that sells quality foods, wines, etc. at great prices and has started going nation wide. One of my sisters is a published gourmet cook. She lives in New York, and when she was visiting out here (L.A.), I started to tell her about a great extra sharp white cheddar they have, she says, "Oh, you mean Cabbot?" She goes on to tell me that, because of her work, the company keeps her in samples, year around.

Me = jealous. Mmm-m-m-m. Good stuff is Cabbot extra sharp! 😀
