Sharon to ease condition for talks

March 8 ? Responding to pressure from the United States, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has dropped his demand for seven days of calm before holding talks with the Palestinians, officials said Friday. Sharon?s retreat came in the wake of stepped-up American criticism of Israel?s retaliation against Palestinian targets, which left 36 Palestinians dead on Friday and capped the bloodiest week of violence in the region in 17 months.

Well this is good I suppose. Just for sh*ts and giggles, what's the longest they have been without violence in that country?

Guards! Torture the prisoners for seven days. If they remain silent for seven days we will give them a trial. If you can't make them scream in seven days we will get new guards to replace you. Carry on.
