Sharing peripherals between two machines

Hi,

I am planning to build myself a gaming PC with a 4K display. I already have a decent mechanical keyboard, gaming mouse and speakers. However I would like to share these peripherals between my work laptop and my PC. I can get a docking station for my laptop. Is there a way I can share them without requiring to move the cables and connectors between the machines every time.

I know I need a KVM switch. However, I would like to buy something affordable (at most $100 at worst). Any recommendations?

A KVM switch is truly the solution, and there are several well within your budget. This really belongs in the peripherals forum.
