Sharing internet connection

Hi,

I have no experiences whatsoever in networking, so pardon me for the newbie question 🙂

I would like to know the basics of connecting two computers, for them to share a connection to the internet.

I am aware i would need a router, but I would like to know how to workout with this

Thank you very much !

Welcome to the Network Forum.

You get a Cable/DSL Router (if you go with wire only get the cheapest you can find).

If you like to go Wireless this might help: Wireless What Should I Get?

You plug the two computers to the Router.

You check and set your computers to be Network Capable.

You configure the Router according to the Manuel.

Few additional hints for Router settings: How to Fix Cable/DSL Internet authentication (password).

Done! It works, do a little reading about security.
