I am pretty much a total newb with networking, and I have 3 computers sharing internet access with a router. 2 of the computers are running windows 2000 and I need to know how to share the hard drives. I've gotten so that I could send files to the 3rd computer running win98, but it prompts me for a username and password. Is there anyway around this, or how do I set it so that I know what the password and username are?

Thanks

Right click on the folders you want to share and hit "Sharing and Security..."

As for your Windows 98 question, I think that if you set your login name on the Windows 98 machine as one of your accounts on the 2000 machine, it should connect without the prompt. I may be wrong, though...

OOPS, my bad, I can send files to my Windows 98 machine fine, with no problems. It prompts me with the username and password to send files to the win2000 machines. Sorry.

Make sure that the accounts on both computers are identical. i.e.
"admin"
"pass"
you shouldn't be prompted for the login anymore, and drive letters should re-map upon login.
