Sharing files

Ok, I have 2 computers networked together via a Linksys BEFSR41 v3 router, both running XP Pro. Both can connect to the internet, and they can see each other. However, my computer can only see the other one, and cannot connect to it. When I try to access it through my network places, an error comes up saying I don't have administrative access or somesuch bs. The other computer can see and access the files on my computer just fine. I've run the network setup wizard a million times, renamed the computers and the network several times, and tried just about every option in the troubleshooter. Is there a secret setting to enable sharing on the second computer? I think my mother may have messed with some settings, because this was working just last week.

Not sure what the network setup wizard actually do (never used it), but I gues it could be permission related? Does both machine have the same set of user account / password?

With a Windows network, you will be lucky if it works half the time. Plus you can be guaranteed 50% of the traffic is noise.

Welcome to the unpredicatble, crappy world of TCP/Ip network sharing. When the moon is in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars... it will work. Otherwise no.

Like Jack said above, the more you use the wizard, the less it will work. Read Jack's stuff, use NETBEUI, end of problems.
