Sharing Files with computer connected by Router

I have two computers connected to a SMC7004ABR router sharing a DSL connection. One computer has Windows XP installed on it, the other has Windows 2000. I'd like to be able to share files between these two computers but I can't get the two computers to see each other. I've disabled the software firewalls and disabled XP's built in firewall. I don't think 2000 has a built in firewall. Any ideas on what I should try? Thanks.

Thanks for the help guys. One thing I neglected to do was to enable the Client for MS Networks and File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks (doh!) under the Network Properties for my LAN connection, after enabling those and simply sharing the folder by right clicking it did work. I'm transfering around 6GB between the two computers right now, DU Meter is reporting a transfer rate max of .08mB/sec. Since I am using 10/100 NICs, what should the max transfer rate be theoretically from those cards?
