hi,
I recently installed a CCTV at one office. and all the display and control was setup. now i need to share the display from the control room to the security gate which is over 160 meters. i bought HDMI/VGA splitter but was able to find only 30 meters long VGA or HDMI cable. Kindly suggest me what kind of solution to split and share display upto a lenth of 160 meters.

That's a LONG distance, and it will depend on the video bandwidth.

My first thought would be to pick up an HDMI to SDI converter and then an SDI to HDMI converter for the far end.

But even SDI signals depending on the resolution and cable used will have difficulty over 500+ feet.

If you really need to do it in a single cable drop, fiber is probably your best bet, but the expense for an HDMI to fiber converter setup would be pretty high.

120m is the furthest i can find using CAT cable... as mnewsham states, your going to need to do it via fiber if you want 160m.

In honesty i think it maybe cheaper for you to get a better control box that has ethernet, so you can view it using software from both locations synchronously. instead of trying to split the HDMI on the control unit.
