Sharing Cable connection

Well I have heard mixed opinions on this. Was wondering is it legal to share cable internet VIA router without buying more IP's? We all know thats what routers are made for. Could one get in trouble for doing this if the ISP found out about it or would they just make you start paying for additional IP's?

It really depends on the ISP. Mine doesn't care and there is nothing in the contract. A friend of mine who has a wireless DSL connection. It explicitly says in his contract he can have as many PCs behind the cable modem as he wants. ;-)))

depends on the terms of service per isp. they're all different. but in no way is it illegal to share your cable.

You're not using any extra IPs, so they cant charge you for using them.
Unless it's strictly prohibited in the terms of service, you're fine.
