Sharing between Windows and Mac, plus iTunes problem

I'm having a problem with my MBP being able to "automatically" view other shared Windows folders on my home network (to have them show up automatically under "Shared" in Finder). I seemed to got it to work before, but then I upgraded my HD and in the process re-installed Leopard. I thought the simple solution was to make sure that all computers were members of the same workgroup, which I think I have set up correctly. Any ideas?

Another problem that I noticed is that I have sharing enabled in iTunes on both my MBP as well as my PC, and I'm able to see either shared library from either Mac or PC. Is this related to my Sharing problem as well? I have Folder Sharing enabled on both my Mac and PC. Thanks!

On your Mac, it shouldn't matter what Workgroup the PC is labeled as, you should see it, if you are on the same network. I'm not sure what to do to troubleshoot, since it works great on mine at the moment.

You might want to double check all of your Windows settings.. are you using XP or Vista? We just have XP at work, and I haven't had any issues yet.

Until the 10.5.2 update, I could never see my Windows desktop in my Finder Sidebar. But the 10.5.2 update fixed all that.

Can you connect to them by punching in the IP address of the system?

I'm on XP too, and it used to work just fine. I can connect to the shared folders by doing the IP address of the system, but I thought it would be nice to be able to have them automatically show up on their own. At work I only usually see one computer on the Shared section, and I think it might be a Mac at that. There are probably hundreds of computers on the network and they don't show up either (I don't know if they have shared folders). Maybe what I'll do is share a folder on my PC at work and then see if it shows up on my MBP...then I'll know if something funky is going on with my home network.
