I know about print sharing over a network but I want to get full fucntionality of this printer including the scanning and printing.

Is there a USB share switch that will support this printer? Or a print server that will share this printer including it's scanning capabilities? I've already tried a d-link print server that is supposed to support multifuntional printers but I tried it and it appears this dell printer won't even print with it. also even if it would just print, the print server doesn't regognize that it has scanning capability.

You should be able to get full functionality as long as you get the correct drivers for it. i currently have my printer shared over the network with full functionality on all of the computers. I'd advise searching for the specific printer driver on the website, but look for "Network Driver" or something of that general nature.

I actually take part of that back. If i remember correctly, I used the normal driver, but what I did was added the printer through the network (made a new TCP Port with the printer's ip). Once it found the printer, it installed the drivers, and I had full functionality.

What kind of printer do you have? Is it this brand and model or is it another one?
