I have an apple powerbook that has built in bluetooth and a pc that is running win2k. I would like to share the Logitech Mx900 bluetooth mouse between them both. Here is how I want to set it up, please tell me your input as to if you think it will work the way I am expecting it to.

1) Powerbook uses internal bluetooth to communicate with mx900 (yes it is compatible and it works well)
2) PC will use the supplied bluetooth hub/charging cradle plugged into a self powered usb hub.

2a) The hub willl be powered by a power switch with individual switches for each outlet on it (the thing that sits under your monitor)

My plan:

The powerbook:

To enable or disable the mouse to work with the powerbook, i will use the trackpad of the powerbook to turn bluetooth on or off using the settings apple makes easily clickable in the top right menu bar.

The PC:

I am hoping that when I turn OFF the self powered hub (by the switch as mentioned above) The bluetooth receiver will lose power and the mouse will not be controlling the pc. When I turn the hub back on, the pc will re-detect the mouse and it will resume mouse function.

My goal, seemless use of one mouse for 2 computers!

The mx900 isn't compatible with Macintosh... only the mx700 is. See Logitech for more details.

I've also been wondering the same thing regarding bluetooth devices... can I share the same device between the 2 platforms? I can't seem to find that answer anywhere. But hypothetically speaking, it sounds like it should work, right?
