and it still won't benefit the consumer. AT&T and Verizon are not here to help us get cheaper data at all.

It's a good idea in theory, until they decide 2GB's for $50 is a heck of a way for a family to share data between two phones and a tablet.

that would be useful if it att/verizon werent so expensive. 2gb is nothing when youre using a laptop. and then theres the 4g paradox: 4g is great mainly for streaming video but since 4g is going to be capped you cant really use if for streaming video. so the only advantage of a shared plan at the moment would be to view mobile sites on your tablet as opposed to only on your phone

wonder what this means for those of us who are grandfathered into the unlimited data plans...

im sure they will "force" you to change to the new, updated (and more expensive, capped) plan to utilize it. years ago they did that when my daughters enV2 was a piece of crap and got returned 4 times. they "upgraded" her to enV3 but had to change the plan terms to fit in the $10 data thing. i told them i already had HTML turned off on her account, why would i pay more? they did take the fee off her line for that. im so sick of vzw. thats why i dont pay them a dime anymore.
