Sharebuilder.com

Has anyone used this online stock broker? $4 a trade sounded good until I realized that the trades werent real time and Im assuming you have to set a date to purchase the stock; so your not gonna get the stock at the market price you wanted. The real time trades were just as much as other online traders. Anyone have any experience with this?

Nothing but good things to say about my experiences with Sharebuilder. I never graduated to the instant trades. All transactions occured without any error.

I would stay away from the non-realtime trades. The company could just wait within their given time for the best price and make the differences from the price they quote you. I used Quick and Reilly and wouldn't recommend them either. There was a site that reviewed all the online broker firms. You might google it and see if you can come up with something.

I think sharebuilder makes their trades at a set time every week. (But I'm not 100% on this so don't quote me.)

fool.com has a matrix comparing a few online brokerages, but I think there's only like 4 or 5 that it compares.
