I enjoy threads like these. Some great shots here!

Would be nice if in addition to the pic, people also mentioned camera model, and shot details.

Keep 'em coming.

I'm not saying this about you tfinch, so don't get mad, but in response to ghostman......some people have been known to catch bugs and stick them in the freezer. Once they are dead and frozen in place, they'll place them in whatever scene they want, and snap away without them ever moving an inch.

A couple of mine from long ago....I haven't taken any pics in quite some time :(.

Condensation
Easter Lily (<-- I think that's what it is, anyway) - This is the only one that's recent, taken about a month ago.
Marigold
Water splash.

take for instance the strwberry shot. i can get maybe 10 inches from it before my camera (nikon d50) can't focus on it. it will not look anything like the picture that was posted.

probably because you going out of the focal range of the lens you're using
i dunno if DLSRs have a macro mode or not. You might need to use a macro lens...if there is such a thing /shrug

other SLR users will have to chime in. Ive never used one

probably because you going out of the focal range of the lens you're using. use another lens with a shorter focal distance.

That is amazing, even indoors/poor light that you would use F8 and that long of an exposure. Ill have to see if I can duplicate this at home tonight.

LOL.

I almost never, ever change my camera from f/8.0, unless I need a small depth of field... I'd rather grab a tripod than lose DOF in most cases, though.

Flower in the yard

These were all taken with my 2mp Canon PowerShot A60, handheld, in either Manual or Tv mode. No additional photoshop done, except for being cropped or resized.
