Share Net with 2nd computer

I know this has probably been asked a million times but i know you guy's are the best.

I need to share my connection with a 2nd computer, already have 2 nics and crossover cable.

Windows XP Pro, must be ONE IP only.

If this question is as straightforward as it sounds, then yes it has been asked many times before

Simply install the Windows ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) component via Windows Setup in 'Add/Remove Programs' on the computer with the Internet connection. During the ICS component installation you will create an ICS Setup disk. Take this disk and put it in your client computer (the one without an Internet connection) and run the .exe file to setup ICS. IMPORTANT: do not install the ICS component on the computer that does not have an Internet connection - it will screw up otherwise!

Teknodude has the right info for Win98 (and for ME too I assume) , but in XP & Win2K ICS is enabled at the connection itself. If you're using a modem, simply goto the Dial-Up connection (Control Panel>Network Connections) for your IP service and right-click on it. Goto the "Advanced" tab and click on the box next to Internet Connection Sharing (it may be worded differently, it's been a while since I used dial-up). That's all there is to it in XP. For broadband it's a bit more involved, and you're better off getting a router with a built in switch or hub and let it do the sharing for you.
