at least he's a good role model. "Sports for me has always been, you know, fairy tale life. And this right here is real life," he said of his degree. "This right here means more."

That's actually a bit idiotic in his case. He's probably made $100+ million from sports. He's made more than 99.99% of the people out there by playing basketball.
To say that a degree that he really doesn't need (since he can live off interest alone) is more important to him is idiotic. To him basketball is more important, since he's in the NBA making a salary that most people will never see. Everyone has their own talent and they need to leverage that talent and concentrate on it. I wouldn't quit my day job at IBM to be an underwear model since I'm just an average looking guy. Shaq isn't exactly a genius, he's a good basketball player in the NBA so he should focus on that.
Next up: Tiger Woods proclaims the MCSE is more important to him than golf.

This is true, but you gotta give him credit for the fact that he still respects the value of an education...whatever that is nowadays.
"I could always go and have a conversation with Mr. Gates or Mr. Trump. But now that I have this," he said, "I can really have a conversation with them on the same level that they have their conversations."

Apparently you can also attend the graduations in Phoenix, like Shaq did. Now whether it's carries the same prestige as an MBA from other schools...it does not.

I think the first person who quoted me started it. All it takes one for the dominos to start falling. If I knew you fools would make fun of me, I wouldn't have posted it.
