if you see alot of his movies you'll see a lot of things in common between them. Dunno who copied who but Stephen chow had his whacky movies dating back to 1990... 🙂
Kung Fu hustle is his new film that he directed/stars in.
He used to make movies every year but now he's doing other projects. Shaolin Soccer was the last movie he starred in and that was almost 3 years ago.

Yeah I watched a lot of Stephen Chow's movie growing up. He is the Chinese version of Jim Carrey 😀
Some of my favorites are: God of Gambler2, All for the winner, Fist of Fury, Fight back to school. So many others that I couldn't remember. I love that some of the characters in one movie can randomly show up or get referenced in another movie that's not even the sequel.
I will check that when I got off work, sweet I can probably rent it.

hehe it doesn't come out until Dec. 19th in the theatres in HK/China. It'll probably be available on the 21st on DVD.
As for me, I think I watched too many of his movies and sorta got sick of his whackiness. Some of his early movies just suck if you don't understand cantonese (cuz his puns/play on words are really lost in translation). I did like King of Beggars/God of Cookery/When Fortune smiles/Love on Delivery/Royal Tramp (I/II) and the Chinese Odyssey (I+II).
