I was watching a show about the shaolin monks and I have to say I'm very impressed.
They did a few demonstrations of their abilities.

One monk did a handstand , nothing special here you say.
He supported his entire body with just one finger on each hand.
His fingers were not shaking, he wasn't trembling, it was like nothing to him.
He held that position for over 30 seconds.

Next demonstration was them sitting in snow, without shirts.
They started to meditate and after a few minutes , steam was coming off their backs and an infrared thermometer measured the temperature of the skin at 101F.

Next they had a monk stand with his feet apart, while other monks struck him with bamboo sticks. He didn't wince or even move, he was like a statue.

Lastly they had a 5 year old show what he could do. That little guy could have beat me down for sure, and he was only 5 years old.

I got to give them credit. They start training from toddlers and most stay their entire lifes.
It was just amazing seeing what they could actually do, versus all the hollywood stuff they put in movies.

Hmmm, how can one control body temperature to adjust to the cold? Some lost human feature?

the "snow demonstration" in completion consists of a monk actually drying 3 wet towels with his body heat.

I assume its through concentration.
Similar to the way you can raise your heart rate just by thinking about some trama from your past.

I think they call it "chi". They can also use it to harden certain parts of their bodies. I saw a documentary on them. They can literally take a sharpened spear to the throat and come out without a scratch. There was another guy who layed, stomach down, on a trident for 15 seconds.

They can also hang by the neck (as in noose) for minutes at a time.

Thermal imaging has also confirmed the presence of the "chi". Apparently it takes forever to learn properly though,

These guys do this stuff their entire lives...
