this is actually a small independent film released in 2007, and is available on video at your local blockbuster. i doubt it has the general appeal for a wide release.
 
What are you guys talking about?? Hayden Panettierre is the most beautiful girl on the planet. Kelly Hu is thoroughly amazing, but I'm sorry no one can top Hayden. And as Mosh said, Hayden is at least 18 and therefore not part of this perceived "uhohs world".
 
I watched it with a couple of friends when they had a screening of it up in SF ... pretty good movie! Always been wondering when it'll hit mainstream.
 
I just saw Shanghai Kiss last night, and it sucked. The acting was terrible. The story was almost as bad. Never in the movie are the reasons why Liam and Addi (Lueng and Panettiere) are together or even attracted to each other shown. Hayden is overrated; she looks like a million other cute teenage girls. The Chinese girl was hot though. On the plus side the movie was short, around 100 minutes.

I actually never heard of this movie before stumbling on this thread. I'm a fan of all movie genres including small semi-indy ones no one has ever heard of... anyway, I went to Best Buy and bought it.

It was actually a pretty good comedy/romantic movie. Both girls I watched it with enjoyed it, too. Both commented on the weird setting (I don't think any of us has seen a lead Asian guy go back and forth between an American girl and a Chinese girl before), but liked it because it was unique and fun.

Hayden acts really cute in this movie. I think she won a film festival award for this role too.

Not a blockbuster by any means, but it was pretty good.

I should have played the lead role though. Seriously Hollywood, you want to mainstream Asian guys? Come to me.
