Sitting here watching the safety car leading the pack does not equal a race :/

Qualifying was so good too, Red Bull and Brawns out front with plenty of fuel. It should've been a good race.

Watching the rerun now since I fell asleep last night. Man, racing in the rain so far has seen some interesting bumps. Trulli was pretty much run over and still managed to keep it under control in that rain.
 
What a great race!

Can't believe how well the Red Bull cars qualified and finished. Kudos to them! Well done boys! I think we'll all (well all of us who follow F1) look back one day and say I remember when Sebastian Vettel was just starting out in F1.

Love the fact that the order got shaken up a git again and maybe, just maybe, the fact that a non-diffuser team won will shut Flavio Briatore the fuck up now.
 
2 Races in a row where Rain was a major factor. I hope, though I doubt it, that Bahrain doesn't suffer the same fate. Haven't been able to watch F1 for a few years and am getting back into it now that I get a channel that shows them, but all this rain is making it hard to get excited about it.

Well, today was interesting because the race started in the rain so we could throw out all the strategies the teams came up with for a dry race and we didn't have any drama because of the different tire compounds either as pretty much everyone ran the full wets the entire race.

This race was much better than Sepang because that race was red flagged due to heavy rain and then darkness, which totally blows.

The fact that Sebastian Vettel qualified P1 in the dry is huge IMO. I think the Adrian Newey influence is finally paying off for Red Bull.
 
Watched it again this morning, great race, the rain really put a twist to it. I think with the Redbull cars not having the KERS and still qualifying first AND winning, states them having the superior designer in the aerodynamics area.

Well, they had a light fuel load when they qualified, and the rain is not described as the great equalizer for nothing. 😀

The good rain drivers were rapidly coming to the front.

Massa must still be crying...

Massa was running well when his Ferrari failed him but he was never in a position to challenge Vettel or even Button or Weber, nor was Hamilton, or Alonso.

I think he was up to 4th or 5th actually when his car failed him. Ferrari never had the pace of the front runners the entire weekend and Massa would have been extremely lucky to even get a podium finish.
 
Just checked, he was third, running the same lap times as Vettel, and on a one stop strategy. So he was running the same laps as Vettel with way more fuel on board.

Unfortunately, Ferrari's legendary reliability has apparently disappeared...
 
I love this new shakeup. You can see new stars rise that don't depend on having a team with the most money. Just need a few more teams now...
 
Ferrari decided to drop the KERS for Shanghai and their problems just kept creeping up on them. With Massa's transmission failure and Kimi's disappointing performance, Ferrari has not proven themselves to be the greats that they used to be. I hope they will make the grade later down the line, but for now they just need to shape up and make some progress with their designs. They are playing catch up in their engineering department at the moment and I believe that they'll probably take some ideas from Brawn and Red Bull.

Also, Mclaren hasn't been doing well this year at all, I'm glad to see that the minorities and new comers are finally getting some headlines.

the cars were solid, the teams performed, and webber and vettel drove their asses off
