I remember Bryce, does it still take like 8 hours to render some trees and a mountain? lol. You should make one of a Chranchala!
 
I used to do stuff like this in autocad, but it's been so long. The only thing I did not like about autocad is it was hard to control how textures were treated. It would stretch them or put them in a direction I don't want. (ex: if doing a brick wall or something) I recently downloaded blender and played with it a bit but wow, not really something you can pickup unless you spend lot of time on.
