I found these on my photography drive and thought I would share them with ATOT in case someone wanted to use either of them for a background. I'm going to print the first one because I really like it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy either/both of them.

First
Second

BTW, they are full size so you can crop it to fit your monitor if you want to use it as a background.

Edit: If there are any photography buffs looking, the shot was taken at ISO200, F20, 1/160, 75mm if you were curious.

I'm selling my 28-70/2.8L, it can make a better picture than that if you are interested. ;)

I believe a good pic is more a product of a photographer than his equipment. Obviously you need nice glass to make really good pics, but you get my drift. Anyway, my lens budget is all used up for today Text.

I'll never understand why people say stupid things like that. You don't deserve an L lens if you can actually say something that stupid. I've seen better pictures than the 2 I posted with MUCH worse lenses than the one I used. Some people have no tact.

ThePresence, this is the lens I used. It is somewhat soft on the corners, but just barely. This was the very first time I tried to take a shot like this so I didn't know exactly what would yield the best results, but the lens did pretty well IMO.

did the OP mention what brand of camera he is using? and here you are, trying to sell him something that might not even work with his camera.

And trying to sell me something I don't want. Lenses don't make good shots - people do. People have shot better pics than the ones I posted but they certainly aren't bad at all considering that was my first time. PHiuR got his ego hurt and is trying to be a dick, but I'm not sure how or why.

I'll never understand why people say stupid things like that. You don't deserve an L lens if you can actually say something that stupid. I've seen better pictures than the 2 I posted with MUCH worse lenses than the one I used. I took those after owning the lens for 15 days and the camera for 3 months. Some people have no tact.

ThePresence, this is the lens I used. Several reviews show it as being as good as the Canon 24-70 2.8L at certain ranges and in center sharpness. It is somewhat soft on the corners, but just barely. This was the very first time I tried to take a shot like this so I didn't know exactly what would yield the best results, but the lens did pretty well IMO.

Very nice. Any post processing?

Very little. I did the white balancing on the camera (shot a pic of an incandescent bulb and set that as white - friend taught me how to do that). I shot it in RAW and turned up shadow contrast a touch to get rid of the background, but it would have been fine without that. The only difference was you could see some of the brown from the chair in the background.

I thought I would point out that the 28-70 2.8L is an old lens, and better lenses are available for the same price or better. You are still a douche, but I thought I would let you know you should try not to parade around an old lens like it is some kind of gem when it isn't even the sharpest or best walk-around lens in its range. The Canon 60mm macro is way sharper, not better but definitely sharper, and it only costs $300.

mrdudeman,

you need to chill out...

I posted about selling the lens because, the presence asked what lens you used, that question is irrevelent to your picture. I said that to be smart about his question.

I said, There is nothing to compete with/for, because why should I post pictures in your thread to "compete" with you? I don't see the need to compete with you.

edit: asking a photographer what gear he uses is the most asked and most stupid question someone can ask. I don't feel like commenting on it anymore.

You said "nothing to compete with/for". Clearly you got your ego hurt to come in here and post something like that, which is immature at best. Did you even go back and read your comment? How can you say you answered his question when you stated "...it can make a better picture than that..." That wasn't being smart about his question because you didn't even answer his question, nor could you have. You simply wanted to try to brag and sell your old lens as if you are somehow a photographic guru. Quite sad.
