Shaking Display

I have a brand new Dell Dimension 8200 with an Nvidia 64MB Geforce3 MX card. I also have a brand new Dell 17" monitor.

The problem I'm having is that the entire display is shaking, or vibrating. It gets worse in the bottom right of the screen. It also gets worse as I increase the display resolution. I am operating at 75 or 85 refresh rates.

I have never seen anything like this before, and I'm sutmped. Does anyone know what's wrong?

have you had a monitor in that room before? could be magnetic interference. check for large power blocks or what not around the monitor. is your power strip close to the monitor?

I have this same problem. It is caused by outside interference? Have you moved your computer to a new location? It could be caused by many things. Poor power quality, interference from speakers, tvs, and pretty much anything that has a motor or is electrical. I suggest moving it to another part of your house and seeing if that fixes it.

The only solution I have found at my new apartment is to lower my refresh rate to 60Hz. This has completely eliminated the shaking but kills my eyes since I am used to 85Hz.

You know what, I bet it's because I have a powerbar close to it.

This is my computer at work, so I'll check in the morning.

Thanks for the ideas, guys!
