Shady Craigslisters Pissing Me Off (atot effect needed for flagging purposes)

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but I've never seen it, and I think it's a new level of low... even for Craigslist

I've had a Intel Core2Duo E7300 listed for about a week. The only one on all of Craigslist in Austin. My asking price is $70. I got an offer last night for $60, and we agreed on $65 to be picked up this afternoon.

I get a text message this morning from someone else offering $40. I reply with "no thanks" informing them I have a deal arranged for $65.

All of a sudden several postings show up for e7300 processors for $40 or $45. I believe this guy is creating false postings to use as negotiating tactics, as he pointed them out to me after my initial rebuff. I told him to buy one of those then, and he did not reply. Now I'm concerned these (presumably) false postings will compromise my original legitimate deal.

If anyone wants to help by flagging these two out of sympathy, I'd appreciate it:

He's Still At It: HERE

The saga continues:

Dang, this guy is persistant. Tried to contact, no response, new listings keep coming back:

HERE thanks again for helping me fight this one out ATOT, we should only have to keep it up till this afternoon I hope.

do you know for sure that these other entries were done by him?

do you really have nothing better to do with your time?

Has your original buyer backed out? If not, I'd say you're worried about nothing. If yes, wait for another buyer.

Not quite enough evidence for me to flag, but I would if it got a little more apparent...

Not going to flag what could be legitimate postings. Does sound kind of fishy, though.

Anyway, good luck with your sale. I doubt the guy you agreed to meet with is going to get on CL and look for a better deal before the afternoon.

If those posts were legit, you should have purchased them yourselves and then sold again at your price.

Nobody is stupid enough to sell e7300's for $40. I don't see anything wrong with flagging fake ads.

Craigslist has been getting pretty bad now that more "common" folk have found out about it. Would rather have those cheap bastards scumming around eBay, which I gave up years ago, but I guess best kept secrets...

Did he specifically link to those ads? If he did, then fake.

No, as it was a Text message. His text said, "There are a couple on craigslist right now for $40"

I immediately went on to see what he was talking about, and only 1 was there. About a minute later the other one showed up. How could he have known there were "a couple" when only one was posted by that point?

I'm 99% sure he is scamming me, and bitter about it getting flagged. If you don't feel comfortable helping I understand. I appreciate those who did/do help
