There's more, but the main relevant portion:

We come to you now with regret and sadness, but also happiness and pride. Regret and sadness that it has finally come to this and as of May 1, 2009 the Shadowbane servers will be powered down once and for all. Yet happiness that it lasted so very long, and pride to be able to stand before such a passionate community to thank you for your undying support and unwavering loyalty to Shadowbane.

When WoW's profit margin becomes 0. By then Skynet will have obliterated all humanity, so botters won't have anyone to sell their gold to.

When WoW's profit margin becomes 0. By then The World of Warcraft = Skynet will have obliterated all humanity, so botters won't have anyone to sell their gold to.

Fixed that for you.

P.S. Glider has been down for a while, humanity may not have a readily available supply of gold to buy from the botters! Just food for thought.

Shadowbane was my first real MMO, met a lot of cool people in that game. Sadly, most of them left after that first server merge.

It was an interesting game when it first came out, a lot of problems at release, hated the movement in the game, had some fun playing it though.

I loved the idea of this game. Played at launch on the Carnage server. The political aspect of the game is what made your choices in pvp mean something and I have yet to see it replicated.

I remember upon first logging into WoW how I wished... Man, I wish blizz had developed Shadowbane.

Man.. I wish we saw it NOW. Seriously, WoW is the worst thing that ever happened to gaming.

I didn't mind the movement at all. I had a lot of fun in it, loved the game mechanics along with a lot of the features in game. But I agree, a lot of issues at release, which had caused me to quit actually.

I think the best thing to come of WoW is Blizzard becoming massively rich. Good insurance that they'll be able to make many more amazing games 😀

I actually think it is a really good game, an amazing mmo, but I quit playing before TBC and I am in no rush to get back into it. Addictive as crack.
