Windows doesn't come with all sorts of usefull software and utilities, unfortunately.

Personally I test using md5sums. It's ok on Windows. If you download using Bittorrent then bittorrent does continious check sum'ng to ensure a proper download (of course if the the file that was used to start the original bittorrent service on the server was screwed up then it may be corrupt)

The one thing that pisses me off on Windows is that there is no way (that I know of) to test a cdrom AFTER it's been burned.

With Linux I can go:
md5sum /dev/cdrom
(or similar command)

after I burn a CD to make sure that it was ok. (although just once I had a bad cdrom that read fine in the burner, but not on other cdroms)

Seems to me that this is most usefull because most errors, at least from what I see, happen during the burn proccess.

Maybe there is a utiltiy included with Nero or something that will do this.

I think we've pretty much mastered the burning to disc thing. Unless you use ultra-crappy (or used) media on a 1989 PC, you really shouldn't have many problems burning verified images to disc.
