I hate it when my parents ground me. I'm a 35 year old man but for some reason, the fact that i'm living in their basement gives them the right to ground me. Parents just don't understand.

Only two weeks for being caught with vodka? My parents would have skinned me alive.

Why come complaining to us... it's your own dumbass which screwed up. You got lucky too, you could have been slapped with a big drinking ticket or worse...

I had to be the KEWLest parent on the planet. My daughter was allowed to drink IN THE HOUSE at 15yrs. old. Never had a curfew or bed time.

I had to know where she was at all time, who she was with, and what time she was gonna be home... but if she called, she could come home what ever time she asked for, as long as she was home at that time. Once she hit 17, she could drink at parties but not get drunk. I also supplied her with all the $$$ she ever needed and gave her whatever she asked for.

She ended up graduating HS a year early, with high honors, all AP classes, honor society, who's who, and scored 1500 on her SATS without studying. And she can still wear white... ;)

I did the 3D rule.
I respected her as a person, and allowed her freedom to make her own mistakes BUT... IF she were EVER

Disrespecful
Disobedient
Defient
I would bubble her azz, no questions asked!!

EDIT: you are grounded and are sneaking out? Whoa, if you were mine.... Whew! someone would have to call 911 and get you an ambulance. :|

So you did something wrong and got caught. Put yourself in your parents of guardians place. What would you have done?

Go ahead and go to that party. Really make your parents proud.

If you want to be treated with respect, show them you can be responsible.
