Sheesh those are expensive my 15.1" was $300 :) (deal from friend). I could have a couple of those buggers on my desk for the same price. i think i'll wait till they are like $500

Okygen Card with monitor for just a bit more.

Probably the best idea since if I remember correctly there are 2+ Flat panel standards. Still uber-expensive.

ss284 did your friend notice any dead pixels?

That is a huge monitor. Too rich for my blood.

BTW, backordered if anyone was actually gonna buy one!

I've got two of those screens which I bought directly from SGI via egay (yes sgi has been selling them in lots of 10 for a couple of months) for about the same price including the Oxygen card.

This monitor is head and shoulders above any other flat-panel except maybe the Apple 23" flat-panel. It is brighter and more vibrant than any other monitor (and I use high-end CRTs at work) and it's update speed is near-instantaneous making it just fine for gaming or watching a DVD on. At a resolution of 1600x1024 it has the highest usuable DPI of any consumer monitor on the market.

If I were to buy another one, I would definitely get the converter box so that I could use it with any other video card, analog or digital.

Hey Simon Says, tell me more about how to get it for $1299. I am looking at the SGI website and it says $1499. I don't see anything about buying direct, just a list of resellers.
